The December session will focus on Market Study – how do you analyze the market, assess a market need and validate the potential for your product or service? Join host UpStart Maine with Mentor Stephen Johnston as he shares from his experience and knowledge.

About the Speaker; Stephen T Johnston has launched a wide-range of products and services spanning multiple high-tech industries; including semiconductors, security devices in mobile phones, vehicle safety systems, software-as-a-service web platforms, clean energy technologies, polymers, and more. He has taken ideas from the back of a napkin, to product launches, to multi-million dollar international revenues. As an entrepreneur and company founder, he understands the importance of identifying the best markets for a new idea. As a mentor to start-ups, he understands how best to pitch an opportunity to investors and speak their language.

After earning his Master Degree in Physics, Stephen joined the semiconductor industry, moving from the R&D lab to the front lines in marketing. That role took him around the world and into Silicon Valley, where he transitioned into other high-tech companies. He’s lived among many U.S. States, in the United Kingdom for seven years, in Southern California for fourteen years, and most recently in Bangor, Maine since 2022. He has a wife and three boys, served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and is eager to learn more about life in Maine.
