We’re approaching our first full year of operations, and more than 5,000 riders have hopped aboard UpStart Maine’s premier resource guide for entrepreneurs – the UpStart Navigator
You can ride the Navigator while you’re having morning coffee, browsing at your desk, standing in a grocery line, or as you’re wrapping up for the night – just about any time!
This interactive guide, designed as a “streetcar” map, has more than 100 “stops” – representing some 40 programs offered by public and nonprofit agencies and organizations — on its four business lines: Main Street, Microenterprise, Early Stage High Growth, and Second Stage High Growth.
The stops are in 8 different “neighborhoods”:
- Advisory & Training
- Funding
- Prototype & Design
- Networking & Meetups
- Pitch Competitions
- Accelerators
- Space & Facilities
- Talent
You pick the business line that best describes your enterprise, then choose the resource “neighborhood” you’re interested in, and explore the services there. You can connect directly to any service’s website for more detail and contact information.
The Navigator is especially designed for startups in UpStart Maine’s target area (Greater Bangor Region and Eastern Maine), but, with many statewide resources, welcomes anyone, anywhere.
Special thanks to our sponsors for helping to make Year 1 a success. You can also explore any of their services while on the Navigator: Trainmaster sponsors—Machias Savings Bank, Maine Technology Institute and Eastern Maine Development Corp. Hub Program; Conductor sponsors – Bangor Savings Bank and Katahdin Trust Co.; and Engineer sponsors – First National Bank and Rudman Winchell/Starboard Leadership.
And as always, thank you to SlicPix the software gurus powering the Navigator, homegrown right here in Maine.
UpStart’s mission is to be the Bangor Region’s innovation hub that connects entrepreneurs statewide with resources to grow their businesses.
