Joy runs Joy Sinclair Marketing, where she serves as a forward-thinking Fractional Content Marketing Officer. For more than a decade she’s been helping businesses cut through the noise—scaling email marketing, boosting website traffic, growing social engagement, and building content strategies that open doors to growth. Her work spans industries from higher ed to SaaS, B2B to B2C, and nonprofit to philanthropy. In short: Joy knows how to translate big ideas into impact.
Her roots run deep here in Maine. With undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology and human development from the University of Maine, Joy has always been driven by how people think, learn, and grow. That lens shapes her approach to marketing: making it accessible, human, and a catalyst for growth.
Like many of us, Joy first stumbled across UpStart Maine through an entrepreneur. She had seen us around but wasn’t quite sure what it was all about. A quick conversation with our Program Manager led to her hosting an intro session on marketing for entrepreneurs in our ecosystem—and the rest is history. Since then, she’s been mentoring, showing up at local pitch competitions, and cheering on founders with genuine excitement. As Joy puts it: “Listening to people who are excited about their business pumps me up. I get excited about their products
and vision.”
